Pearl 071414 2

 Pearl's puppies Two Year old Pearl and her two-week old puppies are in the foster care of the Cell Dog Program and not adoptable at this time.  Fort Myers Police rescued the seven puppies and their mother from a locked U-Haul truck. The windows were rolled up and the owner had not been seen for about 45 minutes. Pearl was standing on the vehicle seat panting, and the puppies located inside a cardboard box on the passenger side floorboard were crying, panting, and two were barely moving with light breathing. While waiting for assistance, officers took the distressed puppies into their patrol vehicles hoping the air conditioning would help in their recovery. Tenants at the apartments brought a large bowl of cold water to the officers, who began to bathe the puppies to bring their temperature down. Fire personnel began supplying oxygen to the puppies with a breathing mask. The owner was arrested for animal cruelty. The dogs were turned over to an agent with LDAS. To see full story go to;
